How to Re-Engage Stale Deals in Zoho CRM

A simple plain text email strategy

Why Plain Text Emails Work Better

Most follow-up emails from CRMs look like marketing campaigns.

They include graphics, buttons, banners, and heavy formatting. The problem is that people recognize those emails immediately and often ignore them.

A plain text email feels different.

It looks like a real message typed directly from Outlook or Gmail. It feels personal and low pressure. That small difference can increase replies more than people expect.

For stale deals, simplicity usually works better than polished marketing.

Setting Up the Email in Zoho CRM

Inside Zoho CRM, create a new email template under the Deals module.

Instead of using a designed template, choose the plain HTML or plain text option. Keep the formatting simple with Arial size 12 and avoid adding images or links.

The email itself should be short and flexible enough to work across multiple opportunities.

Using merge fields for the contact name and company name helps personalize the message without making the setup complicated.

The goal is not to send a perfect sales email. The goal is to restart conversations that quietly went cold.

Sending the Email to Multiple Deals

Once the template is ready, the process becomes very quick.

Go to your deals view, select the opportunities you want to target, and click send email. Apply the template and either send immediately or schedule it for later.

That is it.
