Why You Should Work with a Zoho Partner for Assistance
Data is the lifeblood of modern businesses, and any loss of data can be catastrophic. Ensuring you have backups of your Zoho CRM data, and understanding how to restore it, is crucial for peace of mind. While Zoho offers a robust backup system, partnering with a Zoho expert can make a significant difference. Here’s why:
Expert Guidance: A Zoho partner can provide step-by-step assistance, ensuring you understand the backup process, from scheduling to downloading.
Quick Recovery: In the unfortunate event of data loss, a Zoho partner can expedite the recovery process, ensuring minimal disruption to your operations.
Training and Education: A partner can offer training sessions to your team, ensuring everyone is on the same page regarding data safety, backup protocols, and recovery steps.
Updates and Enhancements: With Zoho continuously improving its services, a partner can keep you updated on the latest enhancements, ensuring you always have the best backup solutions available.
Now, let's dive into the specifics of Zoho's backup policy
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery: For cloud-based companies like Zoho, having a business continuity and disaster recovery plan is non-negotiable. If the primary Data Center encounters issues, data from secondary DCs ensures business continues as usual.
Zoho's Backup Policy: Regardless of customer schedules, Zoho conducts full backups every week and daily incremental backups, capturing only new or updated data for that day. This policy spans all Zoho products. If data is mistakenly deleted or corrupted, even intentionally by an unhappy employee, support is at hand to restore from backups up to 3 months prior.
*Note: Intentional data deletions do occur. Always ensure limited access to crucial services when making staffing changes.*
Request Process: If data is lost and the client lacks a backup, the Super Admin should contact Zoho support promptly. The team will verify the incident's timing and restore the necessary backup. The backup format can differ based on the Zoho service, but for Zoho CRM, data is provided in .csv format. Support offers help for data uploading if required. No charges from Zoho apply for such critical incidents, but charges might apply if a backup is requested for other reasons.
Customer Backup Options: Zoho provides two free backups per month for Zoho CRM (CRM Enterprise, CRM Plus, and Zoho One customers). While customers can schedule these backups, they must be manually downloaded, and, unfortunately, some forget this step. Future enhancements are in the works to integrate Cloud storage options for automatic data storage.
